Hypolimnas pandarus pandarus, or the Brush Footed butterfly, is native to Sulawesi Island of Indonesia. Their lilac colored scales refract light in a mesmerizing way, creating tiny rainbows when they glint in the light. The underside of the wing is just as striking, with nearly 6 tiny eyespots. These butterflies are uncommon on butterfly farms and hence, rare and difficult to come by. This piece is completely reversible, with an entrancing pattern on the reverse side of the wing for two necklaces in one!
Finished with a 15" gunmetal chain with lobster clasp closure. Pendant is about 2" in length.
